Scientific Production Specialist

About the role
As a Scientific Production Specialist, you will play a key role in operating and supporting the Trebal FiberLean production facilities, including the Full-Scale Process Plant, Pilot Plant, MDU, and Laboratory. You will be responsible for producing and delivering high quality customer samples and products that support global customer trials, merchant sales activities, and research programmes.
Working within a dynamic and innovative environment, you will contribute to process improvement and product development initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, equipment performance, product quality, and commercial success. The role requires a hands on approach to plant and laboratory operations, strong attention to detail, and a flexible attitude, including the ability to work shifts when required.
You will collaborate closely with technical, commercial, and research teams to develop new products, optimise manufacturing processes, and support the advancement of FiberLean technologies. This is an excellent opportunity for a scientifically minded individual who enjoys combining practical production activities with research and innovation to deliver meaningful business and customer outcomes.
What you’ll do
- Operate and maintain the main plant, pilot plant and laboratory facilities to produce customer and merchant sales samples, support process development and applied research projects, and ensure outputs meet quality, specification and delivery requirements.
- Set up, change over and monitor equipment, diagnosing operational issues and coordinating with engineering support where required to maintain efficient production.
- Collect, prepare, test and analyse samples and materials using approved methods and SOPs, taking corrective action as necessary to ensure product quality and process performance.
- Assist in the design, assembly and execution of process development trials and experiments, ensuring accurate data collection, analysis and reporting of results.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency, product quality, operational performance and cost effectiveness.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Commercial, Production, Engineering and Research personnel, to meet business and customer objectives.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, safety and housekeeping, undertaking any other reasonable duties consistent with the role.

- Chemical engineering or chemistry degree or equivalent experience.

Process Engineering Specialist

About the role
The Process Engineering Specialist is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Trebal FiberLean facility, including the Full-Scale Process Plant, Pilot Plant, MDU and Laboratory. The role supports the production of customer samples and products for trials and commercial activities, ensuring all outputs are delivered on time, in full and to specification to support global sales and customer engagement objectives.
Working closely with research, engineering and commercial teams, the role contributes to process development projects aimed at improving product quality, process performance and overall economic efficiency. This includes conducting trials, supporting applied research activities and using process expertise to help advance FiberLean technologies and customer solutions.
The position also plays a key role in maintaining site and trial equipment, carrying out fault diagnosis and recovery activities to minimise downtime and ensure reliable operation. A strong understanding of process and mechanical systems is required, alongside the flexibility to work shifts and participate in customer trials and projects at international locations when required.
What you’ll do
- Operate and maintain main plant, pilot plant areas including make down equipment at customer sites, to produce customer and merchant sales samples, support applied research work assignments and deliver successful on site customer trials.
- Take samples, log in, and carry out routine testing whenever deemed necessary. Act on results of quality control tests to ensure corrective action is taken and production output meets specification.
- Compile and report data / results in a precise manner and that any experiments are carried out with due care to ensure all foreseeable errors are minimised.
- Carry out routine machine maintenance and repair work of production and trial equipment, as well as supporting the installation and commissioning of new equipment sales.
- Install, assemble, and dismantle equipment required for process development trials, experiments, and customer-site trials.
- Handle non-routine activities and help to implement continuous improvement solutions to increase efficiency of the production line, pilot plant including product and machinery performance on trials.
- Prepare lab grinds as required as a competent user of the lab SMD.
- Development and maintenance of standard operating procedures.
- Continuous, stock, raw material critical spares inventory assessments and inventory maintenance.
- Keep all plant, warehouse, work areas clean and tidy at all times.
- Adherence to company policies, procedures and process specifications including ISO 9001/14001
- Other duties may reasonably be required, in line with your main duties

- Previous experience in a process engineering role.
- Mechanical/Electrical/Automation skills and experience would be beneficial.
- Must be technically competent, methodical and a problem solver.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.

- A flexible dynamic working approach including an element of off-site working/overseas travel.
- Willing to work shifts if required.

Business Development and Sales Contractor

About the role
FiberLean Technologies is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Business Development and Sales Contractor to accelerate global sales of its Microfibrillated Cellulose (MFC) production equipment.
You will identify, develop and convert opportunities across the paper, pulp, packaging, tissue, specialty fiber and sustainable materials sectors. Working with FiberLean’s technical, engineering and leadership teams, you will build relationships with senior decision-makers and guide prospective customers through complex capital investment decisions, from initial engagement to signed contract.
This is a results-focused role for an accomplished industrial salesperson who can open doors, establish credibility at executive level and convert relationships into high-value equipment sales.
What you’ll do
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in global markets.
- Build and manage a robust pipeline of qualified prospects.
- Engage senior decision-makers responsible for operational and capital investment decisions.
- Understand each customer’s objectives, challenges, investment drivers and decision-making process.
- Lead discovery meetings, presentations and commercial discussions.
- Coordinate customer visits, equipment demonstrations and technical workshops.
- Develop compelling commercial proposals in collaboration with FiberLean’s technical and engineering teams.

What we’re looking for

- Demonstrable success selling capital equipment, industrial machinery, process technology or engineered solutions.
- The ability to access, engage and influence senior decision-makers.

Experience or an established network within the paper, pulp, packaging, tissue, fiber or sustainable materials sectors would be particularly valuable. Knowledge of manufacturing environments, capital investment processes, cellulose or fiber processing would also be advantageous.
